views 659
Air date: April 15, 2007
Host: Barbara Lewis
Interview: Sharon Begley, health columnist
Newsweek Magazine &
Author of Train Your Mind, Change Your Brain
Author Sharon Begley went to an annual "neuroplasticity" gathering attended by the Dalai Lama, a group of Buddhist monks, and some of the world's leading neuroscientists. They meet to talk about the human brain, and how it can change itself.
The notion flies in the face of the old belief that neurons can't regenerate.
Begley, who is also the health columnist for Newsweek Magazine, came away from the gathering with a whole new understanding of how the brain actually manages thoughts.
Author Sharon Begley's new book is titled Train Your Mind, Change Your Brain.
