So, is it fat that makes us fat? Or is it carbohydrates?
Science journalist Gary Taubes first raised the hackles of many nutritionists back in 2002, when he argued that a low-fat diet does little or nothing to affect weight, cholesterol levels, or blood pressure.
He says the real obesity culprit is carbohydrates.
Gary Taubes talks to Sound Medicine's Dr. Kathy Miller about his new book, Good Calories, Bad Calories, in which he blames the conventional wisdom -- that fat makes us fat -- on what he says is poor science.
