The American Cancer Society is publishing a new book entitled, What Helped Get Me Through: Cancer Survivors Share Wisdom and Hope.
And the title pretty much sums it up. Hundreds of survivors talk about everything from stress relief to house cleaning.
Today Barbara Lewis meets the book's editor, Dr. Julie Silver, a Harvard physician who specializes in rehabilitation of cancer survivors.
Silver offers practical tips for friends and family wanting to help a cancer patient. Consider taking the kids for a day, mowing the lawn, or even cleaning your friend's bathroom.
