Roundup of Colonoscopy Research
Host: Barbara Lewis
Interview: Doug Rex, MD
Chancellor’s Professor
Professor of medicine
Indiana University School of Medicine
Director, endoscopy
We’ve come across a number of studies recently about the safest and most effective ways to administer a colonoscopy.
And since it’s one of those diagnostic tests recommended at least once for just about everybody over 50, we thought we’d check in with Indiana University's Dr. Doug Rex, an expert on colonoscopy, and get his take on the latest research.
For example, how one is sedated might make a big difference in the quality of your colonoscopy. Rex also discusses CT colonoscopy, colonoscopies for the elderly, and the relatively high prevalence of colorectal cancer in African Americans.
Dr. Doug Rex is a professor of medicine and the director of endoscopy at the IU School of Medicine.
