Interview: Sandy Roob, Sound Medicine reporter

Original air-date: April 19, 2000.

The spigot of federal stimulus dollars has been turned on around the country. Now some of that money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is reaching health care.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has released $338 million to expand services at community health centers nationwide.

Those federal dollars come at the same time as more Americans have lost their jobs, and often, their employer-supported health insurance.

Sound Medicine reporter Sandy Roob explains how that stimulus money is expected to help additional patients and create jobs.
