Did You Know?: The Pilots' Diet
views 207
Did you know that what a pilot eats may affect how well he flies?
According to a recent study, pilots whose ate a diet high in carbohydrates and fats did better in a simulated flight test than when they ate a protein-rich diet. They also slept better and did better on cognitive function tests.
Why?
The researchers think it may have to do with the fact a diet high in fats and carbohydrates results in the body absorbing more vitamin B.
Other studies have shown that not getting enough vitamin B can slow decision making and cause irritability.
And now you know.
