It’s been about 18 months since the vaccine Gardasil has been on the market. The drug is designed to protect millions of girls and women against cervical cancer by preventing the human papilloma virus (HPV).
Today Barbara Lewis is joined by Dr. Marcia Shew, a specialist in adolescent medicine at Indiana University. She's been tracking the vaccine since its introduction. Shew discusses the usefulness of the vaccine and its rate of adverse effects.
