Author, Smallpox -- The Death of a Disease
There’s one human disease in history that’s been wiped out on purpose: smallpox.
In his new book, Smallpox — the Death of a Disease, Dr. D.A. Henderson tells the story of how he led the World Health Organization’s eradication efforts.
Today he chats about his adventures fighting smallpox with Sound Medicine’s Dr. David Crabb.
Dr. Henderson is also a professor of medicine and public health at the University of Pittsburgh and a distinguished scholar at the Center for Biosecurity in Baltimore.
