Interview: Erik Olson, director of Food and Consumer Product Safety Programs, The Pew Health Group
One item of business that the House of Representatives may get to before going home for the year is a major overhaul of the food safety system.
The House passed one version last year, and late last month, the Senate approved a similar bill, giving the FDA new powers to recall tainted foods, ramp up inspections and keep a closer eye on farmers and food manufacturers.
To discover details about this prospective legislation, Barbara Lewis speaks with Erik Olson, director of Food and Consumer Product Safety Programs at The Pew Health Group.
