Interview: Elizabeth Jackson, MD, MPH, clinical assistant professor
Department of Internal Medicine
University of Michigan Medical School

Two new studies of sixth graders in Michigan came up with some disturbing results: the eleven-year-old children showed signs of high blood pressure, including high cholesterol, and other early indications of cardiovascular disease.

Our next guest conducted that research. Dr. Elizabeth Jackson is on the faculty of the University of Michigan Medical School. She discusses her findings with Sound Medicine’s Dr. Kathy Miller.

Dr. Jackson's research was part of the Project Healthy School initiative; she presented her findings at a recent meeting of the American College of Cardiology.
