A group of pediatricians and medical societies have filed suit in Florida to prevent a new law from taking effect.
The proposed measure would make it illegal for pediatricians to ask parents if they have a gun in their home.
Pediatrician Rachel Vreeman explains to Barbara Lewis that she routinely asks the question as part of a larger conversation about child safety.
Dr. Rachel Vreeman is an assistant professor of pediatrics in the Children’s Health Services Research Program at the IU School of Medicine.
