Show: September 4, 2011:
A Model Classroom for Autistic Children
views 1093
Interview: Sandy Roob, Sound Medicine reporter
Sound Medicine reporter Sandy Roob visits a model classroom in Indianapolis that is dedicated to teaching autistic kids.
The classroom-project is a collaborative effort between the Christian Sarkine Autism Treatment Center, affiliated with Riley Hospital, and the city's public school district.
The children benefit from the physician-and-educator teams, and the project serves as a training ground for teachers wishing to learn best practices for teaching and dealing with autistic kids in a public school setting.
