Interview: Barbara Okun, PhD, counseling psychology professor, Northeastern University and clinical instructor, Harvard Medical School
Co-author, Saying Goodbye: How Families Can Find Renewal Through Loss

Due in part to the success of cancer research -- and other modern medical advances -- terminally ill patients now live longer than they once did.

Psychologist and grief expert Barbara Okun believes that this has led us to a new model of grieving, as families often have months or years of taking care of a sick loved one.

Ms. Okun joins Barbara Lewis to discuss a book she co-authored, Saying Goodbye: How Families Can Find Renewal Through Loss.

Dr. Barbara Okun is a counseling psychology professor at Northeastern University and a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School.
