Sound Medicine reporter

For the past 20 years, an unusual clinic in Baltimore has been providing comprehensive care to uninsured patients -- without government funding.

The Shepherd’s Clinic relies on medical professionals to volunteer their services and depends on patients to pay a voluntary fee of an hour’s wage.

Sound Medicine reporter Scott Goldberg meets with Shepherd’s Clinic founder Jack VandenHengel and its medical director Lisa Keamy, MD, who explain how they run this remarkable practice.
