For most parents, multitasking is the norm. But is this a good thing?

Our guest Barbara Schneider, PhD, says it depends whether you’re a mom or a dad. Professor Schneider has been examining differences between multitasking parents, and her recently published study found that mothers not only multitask more, they are more likely than fathers to find it burdensome.

The study was published in the December 2011 issue of the American Sociological Review. Barbara Schneider teaches in the departments of education and sociology at Michigan State University.
